At this stage, you think anything labelled 'Oud' is aloeswood oil. You have little knowledge of the intricacies those seasoned enthusiasts take into consideration – was the oil extracted from wild aloeswood, or cultivated? From young saplings or trees decades old? Steam or hydro distilled? Aged or not? From India or Indonesia? And so on.
Finding aloeswood oil is not difficult. Finding exceptional oud oil is a different story. It fact, it's next to impossible to get hold of anymore.
